ARE YOU INTERESTED in working to help achieve Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (SARD) in Africa? Volunteer with CHFI and build your professional skills and work experience while making a big difference in the lives of African rural poor communities. Our 4-6 month volunteer program includes:
Africa
- Formulating and implementing “strengthening the mind” training programs aimed at bringing about a positive change in any negative mindset that limits perceptions, choices, motivations and behaviors of rural community members and prevent them from working diligently towards the betterment of their lives
- Formulating and implementing midwifery training programs designed to help improve maternal health in rural communities
- Mobilizing and empowering rural communities
- Carrying out needs assessment studies needed for the design of Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (SARD) projects
- Designing SARD projects that are tailored to the specific needs and priority of each of the selected rural communities using results of the needs assessment studies
- Leading or participating effectively in the implementation of SARD projects in selected countries of Africa
USA
- Participating actively in CHFI fundraising campaigns
- Participating actively in the following management functions:
- Office management
- Accounting management
- General management
- Projects management

By serving “on the ground” in our C-villages, you’ll get an unforgettable perspective on the daily struggles faced by the rural poor and an authentic understanding of the collective power they have to turn a whole village’s future around.
