Advocate and Raise Awareness

CHFI believes in the power of people to change the world for the better. You can be part of that change by advocating for CHFI’s programs and for the people we work with in rural villages of Africa and Asia. Here are just a few ways you can raise awareness:

  • Learn about the culture and politics of the places CHFI works. Seek out first-hand accounts of the challenges in these nations and the role of agriculture in the individual and collective fortunes of the people who live there.
  • Share information about global hunger and poverty, the need for rural development, and the work of CHFI with your friends and family.
  • Tell others about CHFI by sharing information on Facebook, Tweeting about our programs, or featuring our organization in a blog post.
  • Follow international news coverage and ask American media to report more on developing nations. Write a letter to your newspaper’s editor, start a dialogue in the comments section of a news website, or volunteer to write an article for your church’s newsletter highlighting the needs in other countries and how CHFI is meeting them.
  • Write, call, e-mail, or meet with your elected legislators about the plight of the rural poor in Africa and Asia. Educate them about the need for sustainable development of agriculture and ask them to support policies that spur rural development in these parts of the world.
  • Spread the word about ways to support CHFI’s mission through donations, volunteering, and internships.
  • Pray for the poor, the hungry, and those who seek to serve them.
